Welcome to the website of the Lens of Sutton Association. We are a non-profit making group established in 2001 in order to preserve the vast collection of railway negatives accumulated by the late John L. Smith and to keep the name 'Lens of Sutton' alive.

We have many thousands of railway negatives within the collection. In addition to our extensive locomotives and train images, we have an exceptional number of unique station, infrastructure and rolling stock views from all parts of the country.  Many of our negatives have been  catalogued and more are being regularly added to our Photographic Lists.

We are able to supply high quality traditional dark room photographs in a range of sizes which are produced to order from our negatives. Full details can be found on our Ordering page.

Through our partnership with The Transport Library we offer prints and downloads from our collection which are available to order on the Transport Library website. The range currently includes high resolution scans of the negatives taken by the late Denis Cullum and an increasing number of images from our other catalogues.

Please use the details on the Contact Us page if you would like to make an enquiry about the collection.

Our website will be frequently updated and new content added, so please check back here regularly.
